1999 — Our Roots
Cornell University: research-born venture with real-world engineering focus.
EVARA was founded in 1999 as a member of Cornell Business & Technology Park (Ithaca, NY), while our CEO, Dr. Ehab Mostafa, was completing his Ph.D. at Cornell University. In this first chapter, we operated as Engineering and Research Solutions (ENR Solutions). From day one, the company was shaped by a close academic–industry collaboration: co-founded with Dr. Mostafa’s advisors, Dr. Mircea D. Grigoriu, and Dr. Richard N. White, together with his long-time friend and partner, Eng. Ahmed Mostafa. That setting—at the intersection of advanced research and practical delivery—formed EVARA’s multidisciplinary DNA and our “research-to-practice” ethos.
2003 — A New Identity
Post-Cornell University expansion; Ann Arbor becomes our headquarters.
In 2003, Engineering and Research Solutions (ENR Solutions) evolved into EVARA Group, a name that reflected the broader, multi-disciplinary nature of our services beyond pure research. Following the completion of Dr. Ehab Mostafa’s Ph.D. and our transition away from Cornell, we relocated our headquarters to Ann Arbor, Michigan. This moment marked a shift from an academic-anchored venture to a fully fledged consulting group.
2007 — Middle East Launch
Riyadh branch opens; on-the-ground delivery in Saudi Arabia.
In 2007, EVARA established its Riyadh branch and began direct operations across the Middle East, with Saudi Arabia as our launchpad. Setting up locally allowed us to deliver projects end-to-end—combining engineering, environmental services, technology enablement, media/PR support, and management advisory under one roof. We built bilingual teams, aligned with local standards and client workflows, and formed partnerships with trusted suppliers and consultants. This milestone anchored our long-term commitment to KSA, created a base for regional growth, and laid the operating foundations that would scale EVARA’s presence across MENA in the years to follow.
2015 — Cairo Delivery Hub
Cairo back office: talent, efficiency, scale, and training.
In 2015, EVARA established a back-office in Cairo, Egypt to support our growing operations with a larger, more agile capacity. The Cairo hub taps into Egypt’s deep engineering and digital talent at efficient price points, enabling us to scale delivery while maintaining EVARA’s quality standards. We built structured training and SOPs so the team executes as an integrated extension of our U.S. company—aligned on methods, documentation, QA/QC, and client communication.
2019 — Westward Shift
San Diego HQ—closer to innovation, poised for digital.
In 2019, EVARA relocated its headquarters to San Diego, California, joining a vibrant nexus for AI, data, cloud, and next-gen tech. The move refocused us on digital-era solutions—AI/ML, digital twins, GIS analytics, IoT/edge, cloud data platforms—while preserving our core strengths. West Coast proximity to talent and partners sped up productization and deepened cross-border work with our Middle East teams. After years on the East Coast… enough snow—time for the Pacific sun.
2023 — West Africa Footprint
Nouakchott branch launches—Mauritania as our regional hub.
n 2023, EVARA opened its Mauritania branch in Nouakchott, extending our presence across West Africa and into new domains. From this hub, we support projects in gold-mining advisory, agri-tech and smart irrigation, and fisheries technology—including coastal analytics, value-chain enablement, and cold-chain readiness. The Mauritania base strengthens our cross-continental model—linking West Africa with our engineering, environmental, and digital expertise across the USA and Saudi Arabia.
2025 — Riyadh Regional Office
MENA & Gulf oversight, anchored in our core market.
In 2025, EVARA opened its regional office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to oversee all activities across MENA and the Arabian Gulf. The move sharpened execution—consolidating operations, accelerating decisions, and placing leadership closer to clients and partners. It also reflects where our work is centered: approximately 70–80% of EVARA’s business now originates in this region—especially in Saudi Arabia—where our programs align with Vision 2030 priorities in infrastructure, sustainability, technology, and capacity building.
